We heard what was described as “a rich array” of speakers on tonight’s topic: “Understanding the Other: Prospects of Dialogue and Tolerance in a Turbulent Age” (Dr Idris Cakmak, Dialogue Society Leicester; Batool al-Toma, Director, The New Muslims Project; Rev Leigh Greenwood, minister at Stoneygate Baptist Church; Prof Paul Weller, Research Fellow in Religion and Society, Regent’s Park College, University of Oxford and Professor in the Centre for Trust, Peace and Social Relations, Coventry University; Amrin Razak, humanitarian aid worker with Syrian refugees, poet and radio presenter on EAVA FM; Miriam Levene, Leicester Progressive Jewish Congregation; Resham Singh Sandhu, Sikh Cultural and Welfare Society).
