As Ragnarok the new NFT game is coming let me tell you a story about one of the character of norse thats have a big responsibility on what happens in Ragnarok event in Norse Mythology. I created a quick quick Loki artwork for you guys making Loki's children as part of his weapons and armors. you can visit my artwork at Behance Memer
Loki a trickster god was always treated a low valued members of god but he serves a great role and very unique position among gods, giants and every other creature and spirits. Loki’s father is Farbauti and his mother is Laufey/Nal(she’s can be goddess or giantess). As you can see in the art I made, I resemble’s three of his children with giantess Angrboda. Knowing this offspring done we can guess what kind of god does Loki is.
HEL - the goddess of the underworld.
JORMUNGAND - he great serpent who slays Thor during Ragnarok.
FENRIR - the wolf who bites off one of the hands of Tyr and who kills Odin during Ragnarok.
His rightful wife is Sigyn(friend of victory). with her is a son named Nari/Narfi.
Loki never follow what is normal to everyone. He always do crazy thing we can’t imagine a respectable god will do, like one time he shapeshft to a mare to mate with a stallion Svadifari and gave birth as a mother to Sleipnir, yes as a mother it’s not a mistake. Sleipnir is the 8 legged shamanic horse rode by Odin. This is written in the tale of The Fortification of Asgard. Loki don’t have a loyalty to anyone even with gods and giants. Loki even helps the giants during ragnarok that held to destruction of Asgard. He and heimdall fight each other in the battle for the world.
Loki’s one of the greatest achievement was killing Baldur(from The Death of Baldur). Baldur is the son of Frigg, when Frigg gain a prophecy about Baldurs death that made her secure a promise from every creature not to harm her son. But as we all know it does not apply to Loki. When Loki learn about that he carves a spear of mistletoe and made the blind god Hod to throw the spear on Baldur. That spear thrown by Hod struck and killer Baldur. God Hermod go to the underworld and request Her to release Baldur. Hermod told Her that Baldur is so much loved by all creature. Hel responds that if Baldur is really loved by all of creature, all of them should cry and beg for the release and it won’t be that hard for balder to revived from the death. Every creature does really cried and beg for the resurrection except for one. There’s a giantess named Tokk who does not grieved for it. Tokk is almost certainly Loki in disguise.
Loki made lots of crimes that made the god forge a chain from Narfi’s one of Loki son innard, and tie him to a rocks inside a cave. Theres a venomous snake that sits above Loki and it drips poison to him. Loki’s faithful wife Sygyn sits in his side with a container to catch the drip. Every sometime the container becomes full and Sygyn need to get out of Loki’s side to empty the container. Every time Sygyn need to empty the container the venom drip on Loki that makes him writhe in agony, and that creates earthquakes. This suffering continues until breaking free at Ragnarok.
Even though Loki is in some sense a god, no traces of any kind of worship of Loki have survived in the historical record. Is this any wonder, given that his character is virtually the antithesis of traditional Norse values of honor, loyalty, and the like – and that he is ultimately a traitor to the divinities the Norse held in such reverence?
