In India,post GST(Goods and Services Tax) effects are coming into light in our day-to-day activities slowly,but what has been alienated is it's harsh impact life of the RAG-PICKERS. Yes,Govt's decision of shooting up the tax rate of recycled plastic from 5.5% to 18% has severely damaged the life of those who completely rely on plastic wastage collection.Toiling for the whole day under blazing sun,they used to get 1.5-2 rps per kg,and now the recyclers even refuse to give them 50 paise per kg,and the prices for other wastage also fall down steeply.The groaning of the poor,who hardly gets a meal with this little money must be heard by the govt and an alternate step should be taken.After all,rag-pickers are the savior of our environment too.
