Is it possible that this is all intentional, as a marketing gimmick? The buzz created by the lawsuite will bring millions of listeners to the hollies, radiohead and Lana Del Rey - win, win win.

Cryptomnesia could be part of it. Hearing something, forgetting about it then accidentally reproducing part of it.
I unno, I mean your point that the hollies could also very well sue could indeed happen. But I would guess this law suit will go quietly under the rug. I do not foresee it as big as like Joe Satriani and Cold play.
