I guess here is where we diverge. A key element of all of this is relationships. If you are truly helping someone, there’s a relationship being built. There is a notion that you care about that other person, and want to reduce their suffering.
If you want to extract value out of someone, and ‘keep them hungry’ while you act as some sort of gatekeeper of knowledge, then the relationship that’s being built is toxic. It’s extractive, and objectifies human life.
If your only inclination to help others is for your own personal gain, your worldview is tiny.
