Well, it's a nice idea to feed and teach. But some will never realize that you're doing them good. They'll eat to their satisfaction but with little or nothing to account for.
Keep them hungry so that they'll learn how to find what they'll eat through you.
I guess here is where we diverge. A key element of all of this is relationships. If you are truly helping someone, there’s a relationship being built. There is a notion that you care about that other person, and want to reduce their suffering.
If you want to extract value out of someone, and ‘keep them hungry’ while you act as some sort of gatekeeper of knowledge, then the relationship that’s being built is toxic. It’s extractive, and objectifies human life.
If your only inclination to help others is for your own personal gain, your worldview is tiny.
Apprentices don't get paid. They learn to become independent of their own.
