Some people refer to the conscience of that "little voice inside." Benjamin Franklin referred to "a good concience" as "a continual Christmas" because a good conscience means you haven't done anything that you know is wrong, and you have a sense of rightness with the world that just keeps on giving because of the state of mind it offers. It helps foster and create good relationships, and gives the person with the good (clear) conscience better health because of the general sense of good will and lack of bitterness, rancor, resentment, angst, etc. that linger with a person if they have done wrong to their fellow man whether through harsh words, or things much worse.
