I have had bad luck with someone hacking my amazon account last year but I did retrieve it, thanks to the almighty. Ever since that episode, I have saved my passwords and introduced two way authentication.
- write down your password
- save your passwords on an email to any other email account of yours
- print it
- try to change passwords often
- introduce two way authentication, either through google 2fa or mobile notification
- never write down passwords in places like walls. table top or places which is accessible to others
- save passwords in files marked as important so that you can regain it when needed
- also save and backup google 2fa codes on other devices so that even if your device crashes, you can retrieve it easily
Setting the proper password
Remember to set a password that cannot be hacked easily. Include small letters, numbers, capital letters, signs or symbols. Do write it down so that you do not forget it.
Using password managers like lastpass is an option
