It's not that odd, the world's population has exploded, and if you look far back enough, many of us can find a common descendant a few thousand years back. The Mongols came in much, much later, and yet you can find a hundreds of millions of people in China who are direct descendants of Kublai Khan. It's just like a virus - population growth.

There's a company 23andme.com which makes genetic analysis for your ancestry. You can find the regional origin of your ancestors with the DNA analysis. but I don't think it can trace 43 generations back like in this study.
I was just telling a lady at work that all of the US presidents are distant relatives, but I don't think she believed me.. I'm saving this article in case this ever comes up ha
