I had the pleasure of staying a few days at the Intercontinental The City in Doha, Qatar last week. I had been to the hotel previously for meetings during the day, but as a resident of the city, had never stayed in it, let alone make it to the 55th floor.
Up on the 55th (& 56th) floor there is a bar called Strata, and it has big windows that look out over the city, and at night, with all the buildings lit, it looked amazing, unfortunately I didn't take a snap from each aspect, but only took the one looking out towards where my old villa was;
However, I did take some other shots during daylight. The one below is looking towards Katara Cultural Village and The Pearl.
The picture below looks into the West Bay, and in the middle the low flat roofed building is City Centre Mall.
The picture below was actually taken from one of the windows in my bedroom on the 35th floor, and you can see the iconic pyramid of the Sheraton Hotel on the beachfront, and also the easily identifiable Doha Tower (aka Burj Doha) which is usually illuminated orange at night (but does change from time to time) and in the middle of the picture at street level is The Gate Mall.
Anyway, it was a short 5 day stay for work related stuff, but still managed to make the most of the views....
If you haven't seen my other latest Qatar post, it has an amazing video (not by me) of aerial footage of the city. you can find that here.
