Sultan Kosen, 35, from Turkey, stands 8ft 1in and met Jyoti Amge, from India, who is just over two feet tall.
Bizarrely, their air fares were paid by the Egyptian Tourism Promotion Board in a bid to boost visitor numbers to Cairo’s ancient monuments.
Both are Guinness record holders – and Kosen is one of only ten people in history measured at over eight feet tall.

Kosen has a condition called pituitary gigantism where the brain produces large quantities of growth hormone. Amge, who was born in Nagpur, Maharashtra in 1993, is an actress, and has a growth abnormality called achondroplasia.
