Yesterday the electricity was out for the majority of the day and night. It is back on now, but there are new issues. The water is off today. Plus the WiFi doesn’t seem to be functioning, no matter how many times I reset the router.
With both of these nuisances combined together, I am still finding a way to be extremely happy in this tropical scene. I am leaving early Saturday morning to go back home, so I am reaping every bit of time I have left here.
I have so many things I want to write about that I have experienced the last few days, yet I don’t have the connection to use my computer. I can only do so much on my phone, creating entire blogs is not really workable for me on a tiny device . So instead I leave you with a teaser photo of my adventure in El Yunque Rainforest yesterday. So much beauty resides there, I’m excited to share my experience as soon as I am able to.
In the meantime check out some of my recent posts you may have missed. I’ve been creating content like some sort of futuristic AI while I’ve been down here in Puerto Rico.
P.S. I was just about to post this short blog whilst I was walking back inside to avoid the evening mosquitos. As I entered the Airbnb, I noticed the power is off, yet again. Hopefully this time it comes back on quickly, and brings with it the water and WiFi.
Beautiful shot! Can't wait to see you post :) Best wishes to you!
Thank you! This natural rock formation caught my eye. It looked like a spectacular planet home to tiny microorganisms.
I am about to start on my detailed rainforest experience now, FINALLY.
You're doing great man. El Yunque is breathtaking. Can't wait to hear about your rainforest adventure.
Thank you! I’m hyped to share. Having some technological struggles today though.
Awesome that you’re visiting and taking pictures of Puerto Rico 😍 I miss it and enjoy looking at the great photos you’re taking 👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks! I’ve definitely enjoyed my time here. Moving from Puerto Rico to Hawaii. What’s the biggest difference in your eyes?
I didn’t get to grow up in Puerto Rico but I did get to go back for several months and although I couldn’t remember most my family there, they were very generous and fun to be with. Puerto Rico is so beautiful as is Hawaii, but the culture is different there. Like you said in a different post, people smile back 😃 Here on Oahu I smile at people and many look at you like you just did something really bad to them 😒
Interesting to hear about your experiences. Family usually seems to accept family.
I imagine the two places are very similar, yet drastically different. It would be nice to gain an accurate comparison.
Had I lived there longer I might be able to give a better comparison but unfortunately my family left when I was very little ☹️ The months that I was there visiting I was always with family and didn’t get to experience Puerto Rico fully away from them. What I kind of remember is that the weather is similar but I believe Puerto Rico can get hotter and more humid feeling and people drive a little crazier there. The food is definitely different since Hawaii has more Asian influence. In P.R. I remember people actually talking and hanging out with neighbors. Lots of fruit trees everywhere. Many people don’t use air conditioners. Similar to here I think, since electricity is expensive. Hmm I’ll have to think about more stuff 🤔
It happens here frequently as you experienced. Generator or solar is a must.
Funny thing I do most all my writing and blog posts from my phone. Like right now commenting even... it’s just what you get used to.
I look forward to when solar is the societal norm.
Luckily I’m pretty used to creating on my phone too. So I wouldn’t have too much of a problem adapting to loss of power on a regular basis.
