This is such an interesting and important topic. I agree with research writing it off as a dangerous practice. A developing child is not able to process why they are being spanked and it only ends in hurt and confused feelings. Of course they will do what is necessary to avoid future spankings but that is misguided behavior. Great post.

Well said, Tiny. It is true. Children may be conditioned by punishers, but they will also build resentment and anger as a result of being betrayed by their primary caregiver. Thanks for the comment.
