I see nothing wrong with people engaging in a good discussion and a good discussion usually includes both parties trying to prove a point they think is correct. That's how truth disseminates and spreads and I'm actually thankful to many people who have taken the time to try and prove me wrong because I think it is always enriching. Of course, I'm especially thankful to the people who have managed to convince me in something that I wasn't convinced of before because I consider this personal growth from my own point of view. The idea that being proven wrong should somehow be considered a ding on your dignity should be weeded out. Neither my, nor your ideas are holly, we should always be willing to question them and should not take it personally when it turns out one of those ideas turns out to be wrong. Embrace the growth, be grateful and move on.
