What is psychosomatics? On the example of heart diseases.

Psychosomatics. Interaction and interdependence of our soul and body. When we feel the unity and interconnection of our bodily and mental processes, our life becomes more safe and meaningful. Meaningful in the way our "bodily life" shapes our sensations, feelings, thoughts, fantasies, ideas, values and meanings. And as our "psychic reality" (read sensations, feelings, thoughts, fantasies, ideas, values and meanings) affects the physical state of health.

In general, psychosomatic problems appear as a consequence:

  1. Inside - personal psychological conflicts.
  2. Stresses and our psychological and somatic reactions to them.
  3. Stable phraseological turns programming the unconscious of our psyche and thus triggering somatic, bodily "responses" in the form of various kinds of ailments.
  4. The secondary benefits of our diseases.

Let's look at cardiovascular diseases from this point of view.

If you were brought up in settings, that "good girls and boys" should always control their feelings, and that anger is the quality of a bad person, then in situations that cause you anger, anger or intense irritation, your emotions will be in constant conflict with your own "Soaked with mother's milk" the value of "being good". And the more often and relentlessly you will hold - to suppress your energy, the more likely you will develop chronic high blood pressure. This hardly means that you should begin to treat your hypertension with angry seizures. But try to at least yourself in their anger and anger, although sometimes recognized and somehow the energy of these states to discharge, it may be worth starting. By placing them in breathing or physical practices - in running, in weight training, in boxing or in something else also aggressively charged.

If you have your own inside - the personal myth that the main quality of a man is "always and everywhere" endurance and involvement in what is happening "to the victorious end!", In situations of stressful loads, when you just need a respite, you, rather all, you will ignore and ignore the need of your body for relaxation and peace. Instead, you will become more rigid and inexorable "gain momentum", leading yourself to complete nervous and physical exhaustion. Which as a result may well turn into a stroke. Or a heart attack. But in fact it is possible and in another way manages. More humane. Without risk of heart rupture. Recognizing their capabilities together with their limitations and the need to restore physical and mental strength.

If you are accustomed to respond to your loved ones in everyday life: "You blow my brain!", "You wound my heart!", Or feel the value of the Other in the categories of "cordial affection", then in time your heart can begin to respond with real pain to difficulties in your relationships with people. After all, our psyche reminds us of an iceberg. And the conscious part of it - the tip of the iceberg - is incommensurably smaller than our Unconscious. Who thinks in images. And these energetically charged "pictures" are "formed" in our spoken language. And if one realizes, at times, the interconnection between mental and physical processes, then your brain can be completely rid of your unconscious indications: "Come on, explode!".

And most, in my opinion, a sad part of the heart problems caused by psychosomatics, this is withdrawal into the disease as a way to get yourself some benefit. For example, "liberation" from the need to earn. Or getting rid of intolerable attacks of anxiety in attempts at self-realization. Or as an opportunity to control and "blame" their loved ones. "You refuse to do as I want?" Here, look, to what you have brought me - I have a heart attack !!! "And this is really a heart attack. With all the resulting risks to health. And "chronic guilt", read a rigid "binding" to the "sick" Blizkiy, to whom this attack is addressed.

Yes, in psychosomatic variants of diseases we always "get sick to someone".Because it is difficult for us to identify our needs and feelings. And even more so - because of education, family history, belief systems and beliefs - it is simply impossible to talk directly about their experiences and their desires. And then the body comes to the rescue. Embodying - read "giving flesh" - our spiritual concerns in real violations of the functions of our body. And over time, suppressing, tearing, squeezing vital organs. Including the cardiovascular system.

So maybe it's better to "talk about it" after all? Yes, sometimes ashamed of their feelings and their manifestations. Yes, sometimes pasuya before difficulties, recognizing their own natural limitations. Yes, sometimes suffering from misunderstanding of their close ones. But still releasing and maintaining the psyche and the body more humane and in relation to themselves and to the surrounding way.

Does this mean we should always be mindful of how we are reacting to what happens around us and controlling our response to these things. Attempting to control how we react to difficult interpersonal relationships.

Im normally a very relaxed person, calm and not worrying, but when the days come, hard decision making, it feels like im suddenly 50 years old, heart racing, nautios etc, it cant be good for health, i cant imagine womeone who has stress to that level every day, surely you wouldnt get old,
Psychology and health, always go hand in hand, hence yoga and meditation are so important, generally sports too
