The words "greedy" and "selfish" are just shorthand for rational self interest, despite their negative connotations in many people's minds. Even a monk who gives all his worldly positions away and locks himself away in a monastery is only doing so because he thinks that by doing so, he'll be greatly rewarded in the afterlife. Greedy bastard. ;) Anyone claiming to be selfless can only be dishonest.
