Many, unfortunately, still have prejudice with psychology. Some say that it does not work and others, especially, have great difficulty in telling their personal questions to someone, because they feel ashamed to do so, thinking that they will be misjudged. This involves mainly men, as we grow up in a culture where weeping, talking about emotions, learning to communicate in this area is something specific to women, and the man who does so tends to be weak. The belief on top of that is very strong, usually created by parents and reinforced by society !!!!

Our personality has 2 main components. We are born with a part of it preformed that comes from our genetic content. The other is built mainly during childhood and adolescence, both in family creation and in the contact we have with the world, through college, friends, some religious group, sports, etc ....

These interactions shape the way we perceive and interact with what happens around us. The problem with these interactions is that they are not always positive. There may be issues, especially in the family environment, that leave us very ill and withdraw our possibility of reaction to what happens. Depression, anxiety and other disorders are usually generated in the person through their family life.

For example, a shy adult has this shyness created in two ways, or is the son of shy parents who have little coping with life issues, and the child learns this through observation and reproduction of that behavior, or the son of authoritarian parents, which inhibit the child's speech, do not let him make decisions on his own, punish him in public, attack in some way if he complains about something, physically or verbally, etc .... This removes autonomy and creates a sense of shame.

The good news about this is that it is not necessary to carry this form of interacting with the world forever. Psychotherapy helps the individual to deal with these issues by modifying their way of thinking and acting. This will bring about a reinterpretation of the facts and a modification in the way of acting on what happens.

Talking about the suffering we feel is essential to overcome a difficulty or a trauma. By doing so, we are able to reorganize ourselves emotionally. After all, such a conversation can have reorganizing effects on a person's mind. Just the need to translate what we are feeling into words sometimes gives us another perspective that we would otherwise have no access to.

Therefore, something that we keep in our childhood and that was not worked for us can be validated by the psychologist who will assist us and this validation is extremely necessary to feel supported and to see that we are not alone to deal with what ails us.

The psychotherapist will evaluate with you, what is causing suffering, and each one within your line will apply your techniques to make you identify the patterns of thought and behavior that are causing so much distress. By identifying, the person will learn to modify them.

As a psychologist, you can not even imagine how a person comes into the office and how it comes out after a few sessions. The change is clear.

The great majority of people when they go through something emotional, seek help only in psychiatry. It is very important that a psychiatrist responds, if it is a more serious case, especially since if the person is not medicated and his symptoms are at a high level, nor is he able to go to psychotherapy or perform basic functions. However, when your symptoms are lessened, you think that everything is okay and that. With this, his cognitive diathesis (the propensity that the person possesses to present some disease) is still there. This will cause you to always present the problem and you will have to continually medicate yourself, increasing the dose and presenting side effects !!

That's it folks, I recommend everyone to seek help. The change that the person presents during and after the psychotherapeutic treatment is immense. Whenever the psychotherapist will never do anything alone, it is extremely necessary that the person collaborate with the treatment. With the partnership created between patient and psychologist, the results tend to be very good !!!
