Sometimes, there are really some people who would just test our temper by being so annoying. And then we tend to go headstrong and very mad because of such person.
At some point, even though we could tolerate them, we would still end up destroy relationship with such person because of his/her mentality.
Some of us indeed has experienced dealing with people who are very difficult to deal with and who do not take responsibility for their lives.
So here are the characteristics of Difficult People:
1. THEY MAY LACK KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
Many difficult people have little awareness of emotional realities. They may have grown up in families that never talked about relationships, emotions, growth, and spirituality. Or they may have had a lot of chaos in their lives and turned away on the inside in order to manage life.
2. THEY MAY BE FEARFUL
Some difficult people resist hearing feedback about themselves because they are afraid of being seen as a bad person, or afraid that if you really know them you will leave. Still others have a deep fear of being overwhelmed and unable to cope.
3. THEY MAY FEEL ENTITLED
These individuals believe, secretly or overtly, that they are special and above others; therefore, they should not be subjected to the same rules others are.
Often, the entitled person is self-absorbed and grandiose, with little awareness of the feelings of others. The grandiosity comes from no one ever lovingly popping the balloon of selfishness to help him see that others are as important as he is.
4. THEY MAY BE ENVIOUS
Envy is not desire. Desire can be a very good thing, for it drives us to get what we need such as: jobs, relationships, opportunities and the like. And when a desire is fulfilled, we experience peace and contentment.
5. THEY MAY BE STUCK EMOTIONALLY
Some difficult people have an emotional or psychological disorder that renders them less able to see what they are doing. Some acute depressions, for example, make it difficult for a person to see beyond her pain to the effect she has on others. Anxiety, panic and addictive processes can also distort thinking. This does not mean the person wants to continue whatever she is doing. But she is stuck in pain that is clouding her thinking and functioning.
6. THEY MAY BE SPIRITUALLY BLIND
We all have tendencies to go our own way, away from God's care and His path. That is the essence of sin. Healthy individuals dedicate themselves to bringing their sinful tendencies to righteousness. But others have a shallow view of their sin, or do not see it at all, or have given themselves over to the control of sin. Spiritual blindness causes a person to miss seeing what is inside that needs to be healed by grace.
