Orientation to problems and focus on solutions

in #psychology7 years ago

In the first case, a person is obsessed with problems so much that he experiences unpleasant emotions: depression, stress, sadness, anger. This sucks valuable energy and does not allow you to move on.

In the second case, immediately after the occurrence of the problem, a person takes up his decision. Moreover, he is bursting with curiosity: why did it arise and what needs to be done to solve it?

Probably, both people eventually solve it in an optimal way, only one will be exhausted, and the second - full of energy. But we are talking only about the way of thinking, not about intelligence or skills. You can be smarter than others, but if you're fixated on problems, you'll stay behind the rest.

What to do? One must always remember that you can not concentrate on the problem and simultaneously seek a solution. It is impossible to blame people for all mortal sins and at the same time conduct brainstorming sessions.

At the moment when you shift the focus of your attention from whining to finding potential solutions, a miracle happens: negative emotions disappear and you can tap into your creative thinking.

So once the problem has arisen, immediately start thinking about the solution. There is no need to waste energy on "if only, but if only."

  • Be positive.
  • To know that the problem is a test of creative thinking. Any failure can be an opportunity.
  • To question the ways you used before.
  • Remove "I can not" from my dictionary.
  • Try out new solutions and methods.
  • To know that failure is one more step to the right decision.
