I appriciate the information here.
Perhaps in a future article you could go into the posibilities of what to expect during and after the ceremony?
How long do the effects last? Should I expect to throw up? Are there dangers?
I've heard more than a few people claim to have a positive, enlightening, life altering experience, but I have yet to hear anyone articulate any of what that actually means.
Thanks for the info. I look forward to meeting you next Feb!

@layl,
I will answer all of your questions in the upcoming guide I am publishing on Steemit. Hence Macey's comment in the article: "Barry will soon release all the details you need to know that are directly related to the ceremony in Acapulco." I look forward to having you as a participant. Nice blog Macey!
Peace and Love.
Good insight. I myself am looking at partaking in a ceremony. Thank you for explaining what food not to consume beforehand. I would never have know and most likely jeopardized my own journey. Would you also recommend any sort of meditation beforehand or even afterwards?

I'd say meditation is always a good idea! Anytime and anyplace... as to what type being more beneficial I'll leave that up to @maceytomlin, give thanks!
It's impossible to "lose your mind" using any psychedelic. If you "lose your mind" then it was "lost" before you partook. Give a crazy person a psychedelic and you will have a crazy person on a psychedelic. Psychedelics are mind medications and do not destroy a person mind.
That is reassuring. what if a person have repressed horrific memories?even horrific acts/memories with previous lives/reincarnations?with a weak mind, they can surface, will they? some people might not be able to accept and overcome them?
It is possible to come to a point where you fear you have 'lost your mind' but it is of course temporary, when sanity returns it is all the sweeter. The lost mind phase can be scary but also can provide lasting insight to the nature of reality and consciousness.
I have always been curious in ayahuasca but isn't the main active ingredient a form of DMT? I believe pure DMT is the most potent pure form of the active ingredients in most psychoactives. What I would be even more interested in is how ayahuasca or DMT physiologically actually affects the pineal gland and how that translates to the expression shown in a subject during a trip in their mind and body.
I believe some places in the U.S. have been more open about having ceremonies involving ayahuasca hopefully that can grow as it becomes more mainstream , I might actually consider experimenting one day lol.
I loved that you broke this down so well. As for the sex thing you should check out Mantak Chia's books (Taoist secrets of love) on cultivating sexual energy. There is one for males, females, and a mixed one. It's very beneficial as you can still have sex but hold onto your sexual energy (chi) , ie for males orgasm without coming. It's pretty life changing stuff because then you gain energy, vitality, longevity etc from sex instead of losing it. I haven't read the one for females yet which I plan to but I've heard great things about that one as well. Hope this is valuable for whomever as it has super upgraded my life... Following you, Bless!

You do have a point there for sure. I'll stay updated don't worry about that.
Am more scared of losing my mind during the process..is this possible??

There is nothing to fear, there is only acceptance and surrender.

Do you know anything about daytura or is that one to stay away from?
