Sheri Eckert and her husband Tom were the couple that spearheaded the Measure 109 campaign in Oregon which ultimately passed and legalized medical psilocybin for the treatment of PTSD, depression, and addiction for the state of Oregon.
Sheri was a lifetime sufferer of heart issues, and finally succumbed to cardiac arrest in her sleep, probably the best way someone could pass.
She was 59 years old.
Her husband Tom's facebook post,
“Dear Friends,
On Thursday, 12/17/2020, my beautiful wife, Sheri Eckert, passed away. She died in her sleep, apparently succumbing to cardiac arrest.
She was a lifelong heart patient, but her passing was a terrible and unexpected shock.
I know that Sheri was deeply loved by many who are reading this – including those who did not know her personally – and I am so, so sorry to convey this tragic news.
I know that it is almost unbearable to hear.
Though she would never admit it, Sheri was a hero. She dedicated her life to spreading a healing message, which she did with amazing clarity.
She told us that we are all children of the Cosmos, each an essence of love and light.”
Rather than sending flowers directly or having any direct contact in general, he indicated that it would be preferable to him and his family that people rather donate to the Oregon Psilocybin Society instead."

I wanted to do this video because I think it's important to honor and highlight those that are paving the way for the legalization of Psilocybin. It almost seems like she passed just in time to make her contribution to the world. Though it's quite sad, she definitely made her mark, and her husband said publicly that they would like to hold a celebration of life for her when it is safe to do so.
