For years now, Western powers have been eager to enter the Syrian conflict but have been unable to garner the sufficient support from their populations who have become wary of unending war in the Middle East.
The combination of the 16 year war in Afghanistan, the longest ever for the US, and the disastrous 'liberation' of Iraq, that has deteriorated into ongoing sectarian violence, has rightfully left American and Western societies unwilling to support further escalations in the region.
For whatever reason, Western powers persistently pursue justifications for intervention in Syria. Obama's "red line", referring to the use of chemical weapons, quickly comes to mind. Almost as quickly as the "red line" was drawn in the desert sand it was supposedly crossed and therefore would trigger a response from US and its NATO allies.
There have been several gas attacks in Syria but there's never been any conclusive evidence produced proving the Assad regime and pro-government forces were responsible for the attacks.
Instead, it would appear that the gas attacks are false flag operations designed to trigger intervention. Pulitzer prize winning journalist Seymour Hersh detailed the 'red line' / 'rat line' operations linking the Sarin gas to Libyan weapons stockpiles. Weapons were smuggled by the CIA, MI6 and rebel terrorists operating in Benghazi, through Turkey and Qatar to rebel factions such as the Al Nustra Front in Syria.
The horrific chemical attacks are not aimed at the Syrian people, although they are the ones who suffer unimaginable horrors, the Sarin gas attacks are, effectively, a form of psychological warfare directed at western populaces. The aim is to generate/manufacture emotional responses from western audiences producing fear, horror and outrage. Western media plays a pivotal role here as they converge on the event and broadcast the tragedy 24/7.
The goal is simple. Manufacture consent within the masses to support intervention.

The company’s contract with the group is part of the $339.6 million committed by USAID for “supporting activities that pursue a peaceful transition to a democratic and stable Syria.” This whopping sum of money supplements the reported $1 billion the CIA spent in the past year supplying and training the rebel forces attempting to overthrow the Syrian government, fueling a grinding civil war that necessitates the presence of thousands of first responders.

We really need help breaking stories onto Reddit News. I've found that to be the medium with the largest audience (8 million subscribers with 30,000 reading at all times), yet when I've posted there I am either shadow banned or the post is censored and removed by mods. If others want to help get this info on there also it is much appreciated.
Sounds pretty accurate, I left reddit after the CTR paid trolls invaded r/politics and they banned several subs. I think you're right, they have a significant subscriber base there that needs to be exposed to this information. Keep at it, the damn will eventually break.
Oh they decided not to let our pipeline through their country and sell their own oil through their own pipeline. The leader of that country is obviously using chemical weapons on their own people so we must liberate people from the opression.

Excellent post. Very sadly true. And still people don't want to hear. When I have spoken of the atrocities or of facts I was made aware of perpetrated by US, UN and the West...they don't want to to believe that any Western government could possibly do these heinous acts. Yet they are so easily persuaded to accept that everything is the fault of "the enemy" (anyone that stands in the way of US politics).
For me, I'm sorry to say that US is the capital of terrorism, with Israel, UK, Saudi Arabia, France and others as their henchmen.

The Arab Spring with the help of the Obama administration managed to reach its goal of transplanting 10s of thousands of jihadees into Europe and making Europe accept them with open arms.
Another reason was that russians wanted to show themselves as aliens to european world after being kicked out of G7 and closed investments made their economy slow down.
And one more reason was to make europeans concentrate on refugees problems and let Russia continue war in Ukraine without any problems from UNO.
And after every terrorist attack in Europe russian authorities are coming out and say "we want a profound dialogue about terrorism", though in many cases russian roots can be almost obvious especially from Chechnya, which leader is a dog to Putin.

But in fact so called civil war in Syria is going on for six years already but millions of refugees overcrowded Europe not at the beginning of it. But when Russia being defeated in the eastern Ukraine decided to show their people some picture of excellent russian bombardiers.
Even it was widely spread in the news that Russians receive a good and cheap training in Syria (Asad is supposed to pay) - those were words of their president.
The Syrian civil war would have had a quick and bloody end and Assad would have been victorious. Right or wrong, it doesn't matter.
The Obama administration stuck their finger into the war, which it should not have done. It also stirred the pot in Egypt, which it should not have done. And, to make sure things really got going, it overthrew the Lybia government for no reason at all. Basically giving a reason for a "refugee emergency".
The majority of the "refugees" are fighting age men. These aren't refugees, they are either sleeper fighters, cowards or both.
It was stupid for Europe to accept any of them. The best thing to do would be to setup a section of the conflicted country as refugee territory and defend that until the refugees could go home or be probably assimilated into another country.
I live in a country with over 2 million refugees and lots of them are fighting age men, though we had time to be irritated about that fact.
But the war is about trust between soldiers and those person who are not ready or are not able to kill other people can be understood and can not be pushed to war. Two years after russian intervention and we have a contract army totally financed by our poor budget.
If it goes about syrians I understand that they suffer for us as well (for russians to be able to show their tanks and planes killing people - unfortunately russian authorities really think that's what is needed to be popular among their people). We have many syrian refugees as well but I know how they are treated in my country and I know that you hardly find any other more tolerate people than my nation.
And if it goes about people who are running from war it's totally understood that civil people should come out from bombs. That's what we are doing in Ukraine - the most hot spots were not living areas, the most prolonged fighting was over an airport (half a year we managed to drag terrorists to that spot).
It's easy to talk about war and what people should do when it's far away, but it's totally different when it's going on in your country.

I know this conspiracy theories my be appealing for many, but i would not trust a guy like Assad, whose been president for years, and his father also was president, i know for sure that long time in power will corrupt any person, ANY...
Also i live in a country where opposition is called "terrorist", so i have no doubt that any other dictator in the world can call their opposition terrorist too... I simply don't trust that kind of people...
I agree, I do not trust Asad and I believe he and his father have brutalized their own people.
At the same time, the US is the biggest state sponsor of terrorism (see El Salvador, Nicaragua, Indonesia, etc.) and has backed numerous brutal dictatorships worldwide: Chile, Iraq, Egypt, etc.
Also, the US sent detainees to Syria to be tortured during the CIA rendition programs.

I don't trust the US government either of course... But i know for sure that many of the thing said against the US government and CIA are made up, in my country i have witnessed how group of people just make up conspiracy theories involving CIA (they even fabricate false photos, testimonies, phone calls), if this happens here, can happen everywhere, so I'm not buying any theories that easy... Here we have big laboratories dedicated to build conspiracy theories against the opposition and US, CIA, usaid etc, and this i know for sure because i have been there...

That they're trying to rev up support to go to war in Syria? I don't think they care about public opinion anymore, and regardless, jingoists like trump and his cult are more than happy to comply, and we all knew someone like him was coming.
If you're saying it rev up support to allow in immigrants, which I don't think you're saying, there's little needed for that.
Videos like the following is what any non-right winger can't argue with. You don't need sympathy for them, we've done more than enough vile ourself to justify it.
In terms of what I believe you were talking about, the former, that it was to justify war, there hasn't been an inch of movement on the left. It's still non-intervention and simply provide humanitarian aide, no arms, no bombs, nothing but food, water, and the like.

Yeah you forgot to mention in your article that America is repeating the same mistakes in Syria that it did in Afghanistan by creating the Mujahedeen (Taliban) during the cold war. Osama Bin Laden and Hamid Karzai were both covert CIA agents at that time during when Ronald Reagan was in power. I have the picture of Ronald Reagan meeting with the Taliban in the White House! For those American soldiers who lost their limbs and died in battle then they should thank Ronald Reagan and the CIA for creating the Mujahedeen because they died for the wrong cause.
