Problem. Reaction. Solution. Last night, billions of people worldwide were forced to acknowledge we have a big woke problem. Even if you didn’t watch the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics (I didn’t) what happened there last night is everywhere, on social media and in the press, mainstream or otherwise. The blatant mockery of the Last Supper dominates the news and you have to have an opinion. (It’s a bit like the US elections, no matter where you live you need to choose sides). You don’t get the luxury of being indifferent. The debate is so heated you must be either for or against the vulgar attack on Christianity globalist Macron organized. You must have a reaction. What worries me most is the solution, as many respected anti-woke figures are now preaching a return to God, and not a God you find in your soul, but in church, in organized religion.
Create problems, then offer solutions
This method is also called “problem -reaction- solution.” It creates a problem, a “situation” referred to cause some reaction in the audience, so this is the principal of the steps that you want to accept. For example: let it unfold and intensify urban violence, or arrange for bloody attacks in order that the public is the applicant’s security laws and policies to the detriment of freedom. Or create an economic crisis to accept as a necessary evil retreat of social rights and the dismantling of public services. (Noam Chomsky - Top 10 Media Manipulation Strategies)
For many years now I’ve been wondering who’s pushing the woke ideology and most of all WHY? Unlike the gay rights movement of the 20th century, I don’t believe woke-ism is a natural grass-roots phenomenon. Woke ideology was pushed down our throats from the top. Just have a look at the specimens employed in the Biden administration. For all their efforts, the woke brigade is still a minority, very loud and obnoxious, but a minority. The useful idiots are fawning over the very “inclusive” spectacle on the Seine, but I don’t think it’s about them. My guess is the show was meant to elicit some response from the silent majority and mobilize the few believers that are left.
To be honest, Christianity is mostly dead in Europe. That’s why there was no widespread condemnation in Europe. If anything, American conservatives seem more upset than us in Europe. What I’m afraid of is that the powers-that-be are not happy to see the church going out of style. It served them well for 2,000 years keeping the plebs in check. It would be a shame to watch it disappear and the plebs starting to ask for a better life here on earth, rather than in the next one.
Conservatives in my country were intrigued by Peterson's outfit, decorated with Orthodox religious paintings
This move started a while ago. Take for instance a guy like Jordan Peterson. I started listening to his podcast when I learned he was anti-woke. Lately, he’s become increasingly religious, with God this and God that. Even his bimbo of a daughter now starts her days in prayer, from what I hear. Then we had Russell Brand getting baptized and every other day he posts something about Jesus. I’m sorry but this is manipulation 101 - you got my trust and now you’re telling me the only solution is going back to the church. The same goes for guys like Matt Walsh and the DailyWire group. I loved Matt Walsh’s documentary “What is a woman”, yet I don’t buy his preaching that fearing God is the solution to our problems. We’ve been doing that for 2,000 years and look where it got us.
We need to look away from the daily news on the current wars and remember something essential that many don’t get. Besides the conflicts raging at the moment, there’s a bigger, undeclared war. The war against us, the little people. The 99%. What is at stake is control of the masses so the privileged few can enjoy the spoils. Organized religion was very good for that. Progressives are deluded when they think they’re winning. This cannot be allowed as they would be uncontrollable. Imagine a world where DEI is the norm and the woke get every right they claim today. This is a movement based on perceived victimhood. The moment they are given what they want they’ll start thinking about what else they could ask for. If they’re no longer the victims, the whole movement flounders. They’re unstable and unruly, whereas Christians are steadfast and obedient. If I were to rule the world, I’d go with the trusted Holy Mother Church, not with the whiny wokes. Many of us speak of the woke virus, but the cure might be worse than the disease.
Another disturbing thing is that, in decrying the woke depravity, nobody pleads for a return to the liberal Western world of a few decades ago. You know, back when women had secured their rights, gay people were protected by law and everybody minded their own business. No, most of the comments I’ve read today say that we’re living the end of times and Jesus is to return shortly. Such vision is also deluded. The Christian myth is no longer serving us in the Western world. What the conservatives are doing is basically beating a dying horse. It might try to get up, maybe get back on its feet for a little while, but it’s still dying. We need a new horse. In Jungian circles, some say a new myth will be born in the coming 100 years or so. No one can tell what this new spirituality would look like and we won’t be here to witness it. Maybe it’s just our bad luck to be living in uncertain times.
Oh so that's the smurf. Yeah. Then definitely. Bietul Aurelian. It's worse than I imagined :))
Apparently, he was supposed to be Dionysus, which also makes it attack against Greek gods :) I hope Zeus gets really pissed...
It would be laff if Micron got struck by lightning!
Excellent breakdown of the culture war that's being sparked right now. I'm a very "live and let live" kind of guy until I feel that certain values are being forced upon us. There were moments of that opening ceremony were so over the top ridiculous that it had to be meant to cause outrage. One of the performers had his junk hanging out of the bottom of his shorts and was leaning against a child...on international television. That has to be illegal, right?
I have noticed very recently the anti-woke side leaning much more into Christianity. So many of them are doing this in lockstep too. During extreme times there does tend to be a certain amount of societal backlash that happens where the pendulum swings way too far back in the opposite direction. But this seems like more than that. Funny how this all coincides with the big election year in the US. There's never a time in my entire life that I've wanted to become a hermit more than now. Lol. I can only imagine this is what it was like during the final decades of the Roman Empire.
I've seen other people asking what was a kid doing there... didn't know about the junk..
Yes, the US elections make everything more complicated and I think we're in for a very rough six months. Already, what is happening in the US is unprecedented and mind-blowing, so there's no knowing what might be next in store for us. During the pandemic there was a meme saying that us conspiracy theorists hope to be proven wrong. I've been having the same feeling lately.
They're now claiming it was just a rip in a leotard and not actual body parts hanging out. It's so difficult to determine what's true and what's not these days.
It's going to be a wild year of political theater and false promises, that's for sure! Lol. So many of those "conspiracy theories" have been proven correct. On the other extreme I think people can go a little far down that rabbit hole sometimes and see nothing but conspiracy theories. It's a balance that takes diligence and critical thinking skills. There has to be a happy medium between being oblivious and completely jaded. I've had to limit the time I spend on the X platform lately, I found myself tip-toeing towards jaded.
I think wokeness is pushed by some very influential billionaires in the west, who control many companies, media and own politics.
No doubt about that. The question remains. Why?
I am not indifferent, but only because I disapprove - as you yourself seem to - of both extremes and the false dichotomy we are provided. I choose not to choose either option we are granted by our overlords, but to ignore both debauchery and blind faith in overlords and seek independent means that creates decentralized wealth and power, and decreases the wealth and power of overlords.
As sovereign people we have the sole option to choose our beliefs and actions, and while that includes both debauchery and blind faith in overlords, it also includes every imaginable possibility between those extremes, including reasonable and empowering decentralization.
Thanks!
I am on my own spiritual path so I cannot say I was offended by the ceremony last night. As always, I try to understand what's going on, as I don't think these are random acts. Always wondering why is very tiring so I try to ignore politics as much as possible, yet sometimes I cannot resist this natural tendency of mine. And, yes, I do disapprove of both extremes.
