We have at some point or the other sacrificed for a friend or a partner as a result of what you might term responsibility. While this may appear to be true, it might not be accepted by a greater percentage of people.
Moreover, when it comes to relationships of any kind, it is encouraged to be able to be there for that person. Having to start a friendship or a business with someone should be seen as an act of sacrifice to know that person better as long as you guys will be together. It is very vital to also note that having to sacrifice for that person doesn't stop you from being who you are and who you want to be, it is now when individuality can be introduced. This is because getting to form a relationship with someone should not put you in a confined space and limit you to what you should do especially when it comes to personal growth. it is not out of line to what to be better and also evolve while at it.
Moving down to if sacrifices should be made in a relationship or not. It is entirely base on the individuals now but no knowledge can never be a waste. Having said this, you should have gotten the answer to this. Sacrifices should always be seen and upheld in relationships of any kind. While at it, gender and subjectivity don't apply to this.
The reason has been that you are coming together to meet an understanding and to also build together, so wanting to be subjective shouldn't be an option.
Conclusively, don't make it feel like an entitlement rather it should be seen as a responsibility and as a result of who you are as a person.
