Hello steemians i trust we are all having a splendid day. Recently i was discussing with a steemian who expressed his desire to speak to people about steemit but he express his lack of confidence as the major challenge. That is why today i just want to share a few tips on how to conquer your fears when it comes to speaking in public. This tip are what actually helped me over the years, and i can proudly say that i have noticed tremendous progress in my confidence level when it comes to speaking in public and addressing a group of people.
A whole lot of people have this challenge but how to go about it is what the have no idea about even when they have a desire to change. I will be sharing the following tips which will help you achieve your confidence in speaking in public. But, you must note that in achieving this, it will not just happen spontaneously, you need to be determined and consistent in practicing the procedure.

#TIPS

  1. You must prepare to be nervous: You must understand that even professional speaker, at one point in time, they all get nervous, but what really differentiates them is that the can easily channel the nervous feeling into a positive energy. How you may ask, now you can redirect the nervous energy by breathing in and out gently, and tell yourself you can do it. And continue breathing in and out constantly till that nervous feeling is taken away and you will know from your heart beat, it will restore back to normal and your voice will be clear.

2.You must be Ready: You need to understand the audience you are addressing and understand how to approach them, get their attention and how to communicate with them and flow with them.
If you are able to flow with your audience, it has a way of boasting your confidence.

3.You must practice and rehears: after understanding your audience, you must practice on what you are addressing your audience on. Because if you fail to plan you plan to fail. You can start by telling a story to catch their attention, you can hold an object on your hand like a pen and speak as though you are addressing your audience in a closeth or on a mirror.

4.Breathe Control: like i said earlier on, you can in the thirty seconds before you begin speaking, take three slow, deep breaths through your nose, filling your belly. As you breathe out, say silently to yourself, “Relax.”

5.Focus on your audience: Stage fright in most cases is rooted in your self preoccupation with questions like (“How am I doing?” “Am I making any sense?”) Stop focusing on yourself. Focus, instead, on your audience by asking your audience some of this questions (“How are you?” “Are you getting this?” “Can you hear me?”).

6.Simplify: Try as much as possible to ensure that you communicate with your audience in a languages and grammar that will establish communication.

7.Act Confident: People won’t see how nervous you are. (They can’t tell if your palms are sweating or your knees are knocking or your heart is pounding.) So don’t tell them. Smile. Stick your chest out. Look confident, even if you don’t feel it.

I do hope this few tips will help enhance your confidence level, and remember you can only achieve this by being consistent.

I also want to use this medium to recommend that steemians in a particular locality should come together in other to help others also and work together to expand the community.
