Steem-Ambassador Lite

This month of May I have been crazy busy with project work both on and offline so I have had little choice but to try Steem-Ambassador Lite !!!

If the opposite to “Lite” is “Heavy” – I had certainly been Steem-Ambassador Heavy in April, so the pendulum has swung and I’m writing here about what my month of Steem-Ambassador Lite entailed.

Throughout the month I still wanted to fulfil the responsibilities of the Ambassador role and uphold the values of the promo-steem project, but I did not have a great deal of time for writing blogs and performing analysis. I did, however, enjoy spreading the news of the Steem Ambassador project through Discord to those interested - especially promoting to advocates in countries where we don’t have an Ambassador yet – forexample in Spain.

INVESTMENT

This month saw my first investment into STEEM so I benefitted for the first time in having over 500 SP and the vote slider.
Taking the month as a whole my investment has been on a slide too!! With Steem price falling 25% over the period since my investment! That doesn’t matter when you are thinking long term and see that the STEEM BLOCKCHAIN has so much untapped value, and that the STEEM DOLLAR could be worth tenfold its current value.

The main thing for me, is that it has been a positive month to be in a position to distribute my higher value upvote-reward to a wider network.

DELEGATION

At the beginning of May - I was in a position to delegate for the first time!
So this was easy, I immediately delegated 550 SP to @Steem-Ambassador. I support the values and I believe in the team of Steem-Ambassadors to curate quality work on the promo-steem tag. There is also a highly efficient upvoting system called C.A.M.P.U.S which meant 550SP was being put to efficient use. You can delegate too – it’s really simple see here.
Two weeks later I made a second delegation - this time a short term one. I had identified that of the original 30 Steem-Ambassadors just over 50% of them had less than 500 Steem Power. Whilst they had great Ambassador qualities – we should remember it doesn’t always translate into Steem Power quickly for everyone. It can take time to get 500 Steem Power – especially in the developing world.
Ambassadors curating with less than 500 SP, and therefore without vote sliders, brought two questions to my mind:

  • Question: What does this mean for the distribution of votes used in the curation of the promo-steem tag?
  • Answer: If over half the Steem-Ambassadors only had twenty votes per day – the rewards being distributed from C.A.M.P.U.S (when it relies upon 3 Steem-Ambassador Upvotes) would have a narrower distribution than under the scenario where all Ambassadors have a vote slider (and over 500 SP)
  • Where are the Ambassadors who had less than 500 SP located?
  • Answer: Mainly developing world; Nigeria and Indonesia

So, my thoughts were to help a fellow Steem-Ambassador to get over the 500 SP barrier for a month. They will benefit from the vote slider, which would benefit a slightly wider distribution of the CAMPUS upvote, it would help them generate more SP themselves, and garner support from their following.
So, who should I delegate to? - for me the need was around Aceh - Indonesia, I chose a Steem Ambassador who had amassed a following but not necessarily Steem Power, was producing quality posts, upheld Steem Ambassador values and whom I could get to know a little more > I chose to support @bahagia-arbi – please look him up. I can see his Steem Power is climbing over the last few weeks, so I am pleased to see this and I know that @bahagia-arbi will be able to support other Ambassadors and coach / teach others in the area on what constitutes a quality post.

CHARITY

This month - I did both on and off platform Charitable Donations. Donating £100 to Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital offline and also 46 SBD to @pennsif’s brilliant Dollar a Day Steemit Charitable Giving Scheme.

Please do look up the project there are various ways in which you could support the project and the easiest is simply a weeks’ worth of SBD donations as a starter. Some of the recipients of the donations are just the sort of organisations who might benefit from coming into the promo-steem family as we support wholeheartedly these Humanitarian Values.

For a great place to look up @pennsif’s project start here. This shines a light on the entirely positive aspects and potential of this platform, and indeed, and author SBD I can earn from this post will be recycled into partaking in the project scheme this next month.

This here is the latest news on the funds raised. A huge thank you @pennsif for running this project.

CURATION

I have continued to curate on the promo-steem tag. And hopefully have a balanced outgoing vote. Let’s have a look:

SA Lite 2.jpg

Niiiice...... look at my pie chart ….happy with that ….sharing my upvote out pretty well over the last 28 days. Not one account with more than 5% of the share and 0.01% self voting. Well that was pretty, natural, and easy. I can't understand the difficulty - if you support promo-steem values - why would you have a high self-upvote%.

COACHING

I have not had a great deal of time, but I have spent a small amount of time with some of the authors in Indonesia attempting to support them with little tips on structure and content for their blogs. I also realise how difficult it must be to post from a phone in a second language – so have learnt to have more patience for improvements to quality.

SUMMARY

So, whilst I’ve not authored or commented much, nor have I been very active on discord, I’ve still managed to partake in promo-steem projects, through Investment, Delegation, Charity, Curation and Coaching – and for me Steem-Ambassador Lite has been pretty enjoyable and successful!!

Amazing job @pennsif!
Let me suggest you @fundition
There are a lot of good causes, backers and supporters that could be nice to see. A good place to post a crowdfunding campaign and keep improving the world.

Thanks!!!

I will take a look, thank you.
