Report the theft of the database of the most popular users of the application

The social network said that an investigation is already carried out to meet those responsible.

GUADALAJARA, JALISCO (02 / SEP / 2017) .- A group of hackers entered the Instagram database to steal personal information from users of the largest network of images.

The attack was due to an error within the application that provided the opportunity to enter the database and remove email addresses and phone numbers of the most famous users of the social network.

Through The Verge, Instagram reported that the bug had been repaired and that no login password was corrupted or compromised by the attack.

One of the profiles that could be a victim of the event was that of singer Selena Gomez, who on Monday temporarily deactivated her account with more than 125 million followers after they filtered naked images of Justin Bieber.

The social network said that a thorough investigation is already underway to find those responsible for the attack.

The application asked its verified users to be patient and to have prevention with possible malicious mails or calls of unknown numbers.
