programming for fun

in #programming6 years ago

Greetings
I have been an Qualified (HNC)Engineer all my working life starting in a machine shop for a decade moving on to prototype build and design draughting in the video game industry for another decade then finally to the electronic service industry for nearly two decades.
So i have designed stuff, made stuff, drawn stuff and fixed stuff.
The thing that has eluded me thus far is making the stuff come to life and function with a purpose .
I came across arduino about a year ago and tinkered as you do but found myself not satisfied with using other peoples code and set about teaching myself through the books shown
and mycodeschool on youtube.
Can anyone suggest any other influences i could gain knowlage of c and c+ for a good basis to this language.I an open to suggestions but cannot attend institutions such as collage as i work all the time.
Thanks for reading
