My way - fast forward of my career

in #programmer6 years ago

I had quite standard programmer career. I finished a high school on extended computer science and mathematics class and ( skipping unnecessary details like working in slaughterhouse ) went to University of Science and Technology in Cracow, Poland. During the uni I had a couple of freelance jobs and almost free internships (part time or during the summer break). Somewhere around my masters degree I get a job in Comarch. I spend there over a year starting from support, then moving to research and development team. And actually my average programmer career finish here.

London, Greenwich - I said I love photography?

Since my first visit in London I really liked to move there for some time, without some bigger plan in head. So when I was finishing my studies, I started to look for a job there. At that point I was a java developer with about 1.5 year of experience and some freelance or intern front-end experience. In details I wrote it some time ago here: http://blog.fkubala.pl/java-dev-in-uk-how-to/ (I just realized that I never continued this post, so here it is).

I moved to London for about 4 months and I was working there as a Java dev in Playtech. It didn't work, we (me and my Girlfriend) get back to Poland, and for a couple of month I didn't know what to do with myself. My masters degree thesis defense deadline was coming, so I focused on finishing it. It was a nightmare, I was trying any motivation / focus / productiveness improvements I found. I've done this, but it's not really something I am really proud of, worst project in my life.

After defending my thesis I started doing some websites, according to my previous experience with it. After some time I get a new business funding and started my company as a freelancer.
About the same time, a friend of mine left a job and do the same in London.

And that's how it started. Since November 2017 we started to work together (I get one project from him) and things started going well. Let me explain where are we now and where are we going in the next chapter.
Stay tuned!
