According to the BBC, Flames and smoke rose at the height of the Trump Tower at 18 o'clock local time on April 7. The area around the building was blocked.
The New York Fire Department reports fires on the 50th floor for flats and offices. According to CNN, four firefighters were injured. At least one person died after the fire.
Mr. Trump has his home and office here but he is in Washington this weekend. A spokeswoman for First Lady Melanie Trump confirmed that she and her son Barron Trump were also in Washington.
President Trump's son, Eric, posted on Twitter that the fire broke out in the apartment area and thanked the New York Fire Department for their prompt arrival.
