Saturday I was filling up one of those big Rubbermaid tubs with several personal hygiene products for storage when my husband came in to watch me. He watched as I packed in several bars of soap, bottles of hand soap and shampoo, tubes of toothpaste, several toothbrushes, mouthwash, floss, razors, tampons, pads, and deodorant. He looked at me and said "where's the Q-tips"?
I just looked at him. It never crossed my mind to grab Q-tips! All the reading I do, watching of videos, and talking about prepping I don't think I've ever heard someone mention Q-tips.
How could I miss this? It's always wise to have a fresh pair of eyes to look at what you have and to get their input on your supplies. I'm sure there are other items I'm missing that I haven't thought about. I try to write everything down and when I hear something new I add it to my list.
Prepping can be overwhelming in the beginning but in time it becomes like second nature. I begin to look at items with a totally different mind set. Instead of this is for .... I look at items like how many different ways can this be used, can I substitute it for a cheaper more useful item?
I guess, don't over look the small stuff! MAKE LISTS!

Dry socket is so painful! Do you have any clove oil? It can help soothe the pain.
Yes, I do! I soaked the cotton in the clove oil and then packed it into the socket. I was surprised by how much the clove oil helps.

STOPHi! Soooo....Warning, the following comment might make someone feel uncomfortable because it's about bodily functions. Okay, this is kind of a weird thing to post, but here goes: I saw the box of tampons in the photo and I thought...'Oh GOSH that is smart! It would be awful to be in a situation where I couldn't get tampons!' And then I remembered I bought this little thing called a diva cup months and months ago that I've been too chicken to try (and I had a large supply of tampons to go through). And then I thought, 'Oh! If that thing works then it'd be wonderful to have in a situation where I was unable to get tampons/there weren't any available.' I need to just try it and get it over with. So, I just wanted to mention it to you in case you didn't know about them (there are several different brands/styles out there). Random comment but thought it could potentially be helpful to some.
Thanks for posting! I totally want to try one but haven't. I have heard about them from Patriot Nurse and see them when I buy tampons I guess I'm just iffy. Definitely let me know how it works for you. I really don't think a lot of women know about them.
