We don't have a lot of teenagers on the streets here in Tulsa. They tend to be 30 ish and older. We have been feeding and clothing them for several years now. Most are decent people in bad situations, with the most common problem being substance abuse. We have some that have mental problems, mostly due to refusing to use the medications they need. However, these problems do NOT lessen the requirement that we help our brothers! We lost three last month, one was shot, one overdosed, and one sadly froze to death. These are important people in spite of where they live! We have recovered some, but some follow the path of least resistance, and will be there long term. A Man who has been on the streets for 22 years, and I have been feeding for several years, started talking to me last Sunday for the first time! I was flatteted that he trusted me that much, he is very wary! We are up to about 300 people when we feed the hot food, and it is humbling to be allowed to help them! We started with 20 under the bridges, but it has grown. Most are good people who are just in a bad spot right now, and only need a little help.
Even if it is only a little thing, we need to do what we can for others!
