Preparedness - that is what Inch By Inch is all about. I am an avid prepper and have been for some 30 ish years! I get asked all the time what I am preparing for! ZOMBIES!!! Lol! No, I don't believe we will ever have to prepare for zombies, other than perhaps the ones we see addicted to screens! Yet, that is a real thing too, but not one that I talk about! I believe with all my heart though that we need to be prepared for things like natural disasters that happen at an ever increasing rate in our world today.
I believe we need to be for man made disasters - you know things like oil spills, chemical spills or leaks, explosions, and things like that.
I also believe that we need to be prepared for things like terrorism, war, famine, pandemics, and things like that, which also - for the most part - can be man made as well. Kind of makes me frustrated that man is that stupid that we do things like that to ourselves, or maybe not ourselves, but some purposely create it for others. Not cool! Regardless, it is a reality and we need to be prepared for it.
There are countless things out there that we should prepare for, and this post will hopefully get your family moving forward in that direction.
Table Top Discussions are something I believe in doing with my family, especially when it comes to something we should all be involved in, like preparedness.
Before you have this Discussion with your family, read through it. Sit down with paper and pen, with family, and move forward.
What are we preparing for? Create a list of things that could happen where you live, that would affect your home life. Here is a list of some of the possibilities. As you go through them, keep in mind that disasters even in locations not close to you, could have ripple effects that affect your family. These effects could include food chain disruption, pandemic repercussions, war related, economic, or others.
Natural disasters such as tornado, hurricane, earthquake, winter storms, extreme weather, flooding, shear winds, volcano, power outages, wild fires, house fires, mass animal deaths, drought, and others.
War with all of it's devastating effects, nuclear, disease, economy, family loss, famine, mass death
Economic downturn, inflation, collapse due to heavy debt loads, job loss, corporate shut down, etc
Civil unrest, due to disaster, economy, politics, etc
Terrorism
Personal bankruptcy, sickness, or death of a loved one
What are the concerns your family has? This is an important question to answer. If you don't know in your mind why you need to be prepared, and what exactly it is you are preparing for, you won't have the motivation factor to do anything about it. Not only motivation, but you won't have the knowledge of what to prepare. So be comprehensive in this area, and get a firm understanding of what things you want to be prepared for. Discuss it with your family so that you are all working together on it. Take a table top discussion time, family meeting, whatever you want to call it, and discuss just what are the possible disasters / emergencies that could happen in your area.
This is the first step in getting prepared, is know the WHY? Inch By Inch Preparedness is all about preparedness, helping families and individuals get prepared in a world that is full of the unexpected.

hmm never understood really why people do it but I saw a documentary last day about hot the world politics is behind screens all different than what they protray and deception is what inventually happens that confudes the public and makes them totally lose it in a pessimistic way.. UFO/s Disasters and terrorists and illuminati and jews of banks and comets that come to us and world war 3 or north korea (which is the weakest country on earth) or a giant tornado or apocalypse and so on and so on all where a topic sometime in the past and this is what i believe does make people freak out and think about storing food and stuff year for years in their bassments which makes totally no sense at all if you ask me but I totally agree the fear and it's understandable... because we all got decepted time over time by our own politicians
There are as many reasons to do it, as there are people that do it. I guess what we each have to figure out it what our personal reasons are, and just what we are willing to do. I look at it as my own personal insurance policy against "come what may". Fear isn't the factor that motivates me, as much as it is taking care of my family. There are countless times in the past 30 years of my married life that we have called upon our preparedness supplies and resources. I have never regretted it for a moment! Find your why, and you will find your motivation! Good luck!
