Fauna Land : Cheetah, World's Fastest Predator

in #predator7 years ago

Cheetah is the world's fastest land animal, its running speed can reach speeds of up to 120km / h with acceleration of 0 -100km / h in 3.5 seconds. Cheetahs are hunting animals that generally live in the continent of Africa and South Asia and the Middle East.

The head of the cheetah is small in proportion to its body (compare with other big cats). It is believed to be part of the aerodynamic style to reduce resistance and produce greater speed. A long and strong tail helps the cheetah to maintain balance when changing direction at a very high speed.

Citah (Sanskrit: chitraka, meaning "spotted", English: cheetah, Latin: Acinonyx jubatus) is a member of the cat family (Felidae) who hunts prey using speed instead of tack or sneaking tactics. This animal is the fastest animal among the land animals and can reach speeds of 110 km / h in a short time to 460 m, with acceleration 0-100 km / h in 3.5 seconds, faster than some racing cars. It is said that over the years citah is known only as a ghost story. According to the story, a large predatory animal with tiger-like lines on his body often brings forth the people on the Mozambican border. The inhabitants there often nicknamed citah with "magwa".

Citah is also known as the most efficient predator on earth. Chase and pounce on prey only when the prey is within reach. This animal is classified as smart with its ability to detect the weakest animal. He dropped the victim not by pouncing like a lion or a tiger. But at the small touch on the back foot of the victim who was running fast. When the victim fell, the citah then pounced on the nape of the victim for later then gripped until blood ran out.

Although famous as a frightening hunter in the desert of Africa, but in fact only 40% to 50% of hunting activities that produce results. Ever developed myth that the heat is the cause why citah failed to hunt. But recent research has shown that citah who started eating prey shortly after successfully hunting increased body temperature twice as much as a decree that stopped his hunting activities.
