Oh Those Ladders!

Just because I haven't been posting the view from the top of ladders as of late, doesn't mean I haven't been at the top of many ladders lately! It simply means my schedule is nuts, and I am pumping out such enthralling A-grade material, I haven't had room!

This is the column where I show you this small town from the dizzying top of my ladder. I do some wiring and internet installation as one of my contracts as an entrepreneur. So, it will either make for an interesting perspective, or a funny story with the range of characters and homes & businesses I see.

So take your vertigo pills and lets do some climbing.

This is another business installation on the south side of town. You can actually see the roof (circled in red) where I filmed the Ladders/Wedswalk on this post https://steemit.com/dtube/@zekepickleman/grplykth The south side of town is bordered by an industrial area with all kinds of manufacturing plants, warehouses, and businesses of all sorts. This particular one is an electrical supply company where wiring guys like myself can get components. I purchased a couple pieces for my next job......

IMG_7017.jpg

This spooky view is something I spent a few hours seeing as I helped a new church get wired up. It was hot as the seventh layer of hell in the attic as temperature hovered around 30 Celsius outside but seemed considerably hotter under this tin roof. Complicating things was the fact that I had to crawl through this area to run the cables and the damn dusty insulation was everywhere and easily stirred up. In the end, it was a profitable job for a happy client who is now set to stream their services to the internet so their message can reach even folks who cannot come out.

text16.png

IMG_7009 (2).jpg

To mix things up, here is an installation right in the middle of town. The view is the main street that comes through town and the family was a nice old one who just love to use the internet to stream television and cut the cable on the television company. So, I better do a great job with the installation because video is pretty demanding.
this is a nice part of town with the park and Festival Theater around the corner and the fancy hotel featured in this post https://steemit.com/appics/@zekepickleman/alpha-kw-8-appics-im-25272 right next door. Mission Accomplished and on to the next one....

This one is in a residential area not far from my house. Only half a ladder climb on a bungalow suits me just fine. I liked this shot for the hostas in the lower left and the neat blue in the wide open sky. It is always funny the conversations I get into in order to be friendly. This fine old fella seemed to enjoy the company and chat as he became my helper and I learned all about his family. Everyone has a story!

text16.png

IMG_6927 (1).jpg

For this one, I am on the extreme north end of town. This new home is actually north of the town boundary but close enough to town to get a good wireless signal. This house and the one across the driveway are owned by a nephew and uncle who happily live close together. Such a nice quiet place in the edge of the country surrounded by corn fields and a nice predominantly eastward breeze and a horse farm in the distance.

text16.png

IMG_6933.jpg

This last one was a couple weeks ago and again pretty close to home. I do enjoy the urban corner lots with actual driveways and landscaping. You can see the access point half way up the pole in the center of the picture which is the purpose of this picture. The technicians add it to the file of the internet customer to help imagine the line of sight and help troubleshoot. I often get a message like "Nice Picture!" because I am trying to frame each shot habitually to that it will have a home on a blog.

text16.png

So no death-defying stunts or goofy videos for this one. Just a neat view, about 18 feet up, of my small town and a bunch of new clients.

Any ideas/requests for the next ladders post which wouldn't put me in too grave danger?

Good thing you are not afraid of heights or bats in the attic. :)

Some thing I have bats in the belfry for some of the stuff I do for sure.

Great photos and my sympathies with the church installation. We live in a house with a tin roof and no insulation. In summer we reach temperatures nearing 40. So.

Our village - and more to the point, I - could use your services!

Will work for steem!

Ah, but will you come to South Africa? 😉

This was the first ladder post I've read of yours. It's an interesting perspective on things. The part about the old couple made me think of a hero story. You bring information to the people and release them from the evil bonds of the cable company. Lol
Nice!

Haha! I need a couple good writers for my adventures and sounds like you got it! ;)

@zekepickleman, very nice post and beautiful pictures! The small city looks really very nice!

p.s. I hope you are doing well, dood!

Maybe not as cool as the motherland you get to walk around in. Life is about to get really sweet.

My good Greek friend Mike owns a cabling company here and they work in huge factories and very tall city buildings.
He also got into some very bad situations at times.
But the guy with the worse job is the guy that has to go up the mountains early morning in a thick mist to work on the high signal towers. Lol.
I am begging him to take me with as I want to take shots from the top of the tower!
Blessings!

That would make one hell of a post. Feel free to steal the ladders graphic!

Great birds eye view of the comings and goings on around town, very neat village.

Edge of the town looking over the horse farm would suit me fine...

Working under hot tin roof not much fun, windy days on top of a ladder now that could be some fun never mentioned what wind....

I will have to get some video from the top of the ladder on a windy day. Could be some fun!

Eeesh the attic installation sounds horrendous at such high temperatures there. Bet it felt freezing when you came out of the makeshift sauna!

Posted using Partiko Android

It was pretty nuts. I had a mask on, drank lots of water and thanked heavens I train jiu jitsu for the breathing control and grappling with angled timber.

Posted using Partiko iOS

Damn! It sounds like you were put through the ringers! Glad jiu jitsu came in handy for you there!

Oh, I love the view!!! I am addicted to the views from above! I was so glad to have spent much time in the air, flying and gliding. I love sailplanes, but, the ladder gives you a nice stable view, so I am a little envious!!

I take mine to sports games, so I can get a good view of the action!!! Thanks for such a fun post!!!

As always, I wish you a great night!

Uppef and steemed

Much appreciated!

It is neat to make some money while gaining a new perspective to talk about here for sure.

You absolutely have the views!!! I'm so jelly.

Wow, you really do get up there with the birds, don’t you? Yeah I will bet the 7th layer of hell is an extremely unpleasant place to be!

Not quite bird altitude but probably higher than 75% of the people on earth on a given moment? Hell is good in your rear view mirror.

Beautiful photos from a great perspective @zekepickleman. Nice post. 💪

I never really enjoyed heights, wouldn't go as far to call it a phobia. I climbed trees and loved to have any excuse to climb a ladder and get on the roof as a kid. But as I've grown older, more feeble, and uninsured I believe I've developed a bit of vertigo. The 20 year old that walked across an out of commission railway bridge suspended 50 feet over the river or the teen that jumped off of 30-60 foot cliffs into the lake, along with the 12 year old that perfected a 2 1/2 somersault off a springboard at the pool is long gone. I don't like to peer over the railings at a mall these days lol. I'm sure if I had to overcome this fear I've grown into and tap into my young n dumb self I could but I hope I never have to!

Nice post though Zeke, what a charming place you call home. Have a great weekend and stay grounded 🤗

Posted using Partiko Android

Thanks my man.

That’s how I was and never stopped luckily.

My ass is grounded in a camping chair at a baseball game with a beer in the water bottle. Grounded as I ever get.

Posted using Partiko iOS

Beer in the water bottle is a classic move, respect..

A bird's eye view is great with a fish eye lens.

Unfortunately, I only have my iPhone and cropped panoramic shots

Posted using Partiko iOS

Not comfortable with heights. 😂

Leave the heights to me then! :)

Interesting perspective to create a post. And I like your last tag "toomanytags"! lol

Haha yah. I was testing how many could go in there and making fun of myself a little.

Posted using Partiko iOS

I was up a ladder once and starting to tie it off when a big wind came along and blew me down. In those days I was bouncy and so it didn't hurt, much, so I know what it's like to go up ladders

I hope never to bounce.

Posted using Partiko iOS

Sounds like an interesting thing to do!

Yah. Better than begging for a paycheque every couple weeks but has its challenges too.

My hubby is a cable technician, and occasionally sends me pictures from his vantage point (because the brat he knows how much I enjoy high places... 😜). You've got some great shots - no surprise you get messages complimenting you on your multi-purpose captures! Oh, and...

Oh wow! I didn’t know they videoed me when I did that one!

Howdy sir zekepickleman! great job on the great job of installations and the great job with the photos, it's cool to see views of your town. It looks like a quiet little place.
Attics are extremely warm this time of year, spent some time in ours a couple days ago, probably 49C up there.

Yah I didn’t measure the temperature up there but knew it was just too hot. I stumbled upon this as a recurring theme for lack of things to post about. Seemed pretty pedestrian as a subject for me but then I though of how I would like to see this perspective from a guy in Cambodia or something. Plus my vibrant design along with my enthralling conversation, it is a hit! ;)

Posted using Partiko iOS

lol! well yes, you have a winning combination there! And it's true that people in other countries, even the U.S. are very interested to see this type of real world working man stuff. Puts me in the mood for an ice cold beer!

That heat is a bear!

For sure. A sweaty, grumbling, old beer-needing bear.

seeing life through your eyes... nice approach from on high.

Eventually I will have a real interesting story to tell like installing internet for Christopher Plummer or something. :)

Posted using Partiko iOS

Awesome post. I thought you were going to tell me you saw it on Mulberry Street.

The closest I get to mulberry st is the mulberry tree in my front yard. :)

🎁 Hi @zekepickleman! You have received 0.2 STEEM tip from @dswigle!

@dswigle wrote lately about: Market Friday Goes House Hunting!! Feel free to follow @dswigle if you like it :)

Sending tips with @tipU - how to guide :)

A few years ago when I'd trim the trees in the spring, I'd always manage to fall off the ladder when descending. Thankfully I didn't break anything. I'm not good with ladders, LOL. Also congrats on the rally-upvote!

Congratulations @zekepickleman!
