The most common treatment for pain related to orthopaedic issues, is to prescribe some sort of pain medication. Either a something like a muscle relaxer and an anty inflamatory, over the counter pain medication or even opioids.
Pain is not something that can be treated, since is it a symptom and symptoms can only be temporarily realiefed.
Whenever you take this drugs you don't heal anything, you just suppress the internal signals that tell you that something is wrong with your body.
The main reason why this drugs get prescribed so abundantly, is because the medical professionals don't actually know how to fix most orthopedic issue. So the best thing they can do is to make you more comfortable with this pills.
Obviously there is also a huge financial incentive to sell this pills, but the information on how to correct posture is so new that haven't really reached to many people.
We are currently pre ealy adapters, so I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt that if they knew how to permanently fix this issue's they wouldn't harm patients by prescribing unecesari dangerous drugs.
Pain medication are actually not that different than street drugs, as a matter of fact most street drugs started as farmaceutice.
So all the issues and complications of drugs are going to be present with pain meds.
For instance the more you take them, the less effective they are going to be, because your body builds a tolerance to it.
When you attempt to treat a chronic disease with a temporary fix like pain pills, people are going to build a tolerance pretty fast.
Which is why there is such a demand for stronger and stronger opioids. Like fentanyl which was originally used as a tranquiliser for large herbivores animals.
The problem with using more potent drugs is that it also makes it more easy to overdose on them. Which is why deaths by prescription drugs increased dramatically in the last few years.
Also we have to take in consideration other negative side effects like addiction and damaging your internal organs etc.
Pain medication is at best useful in some cases for short periods of time. It is not something that should be used to treat chronic conditions.
Most pain related to orthopedic issues is caused by prolonged sitting, which gives you bad posture, also diet might play a role, especially in autoimmune disorders like reumatoid arthritis.
Addressing this two important factors: diet and posture will fix most chronic joint pain problems. So there is no need for medication.
