From the rubble of America

in #post8 years ago

My fellow Americans, the election is over, the majority had their day, and now we must pick up the pieces, put on our big gender-neutral undergarments and get back to our job, making sure we hold our government and their lapdog media outlets responsible for their actions. We must unite, vow to respect each individual’s rights and freedoms, live our lives, and continue to commit random acts of kindness.
The last 8 years should have been a deeply embarrassing period for the Republican Party, highlighted by the ignominious election of an outsider who hijacked their party and made it successful again. Hopefully they will have the epiphany that their childish foot stamping behavior, unwillingness to consider any viewpoint that differs from their own entrenched, 1950’s value set, name calling, and inability to listen to the people they supposedly represent will result in a New Republican Party. Perhaps they will learn to embrace the Bill of Rights in its entirety, not play the selective game of pick and choose they employ with their Bibles. Maybe they will learn the lesson that all politicians should take away from this fiasco, which is that the American people are NOT as stupid as they have come to believe (and even count on). With a Republican Congress in power, the Party had better get their heads down, their priorities straight, understand the will of their citizen bosses and make some damn positive changes. The world will be watching, the media will be, in their own idiotic and biased way, focused on every move, and the American public will be sure to utilize the interwebs to critique and disassemble every decision they make. I would love to think that they will take this gift they have received and make it a spectacular 4 years of clear thinking and dutiful action, but my natural opinion of politicians leads me to think that this will not, in fact, occur. It never seems to sink in to the thick-headed, narcissistic, short-sighted politician that if they use their position of transitory power to inflict laws, regulations, prohibitions and other miscellaneous obscenities upon an unwilling populace, they will, out of self defense, spend the next election cycle bringing back the other party to undo the stupidity they spent their time enacting.
My hope for the Democratic Party is that they will take this vacation time to rethink their values, weed out the non-viable culls among their ranks, buy a dictionary so they can look up some words like; socialism, democracy, republic, integrity, theft, freedom, right, inalienable, infringe, trustworthy, coercion, and procedure. This election should serve as a wake up call to a group that prides itself on appealing to intellectuals, you are not apparently as smart as you thought, you might want to consider listening to somebody who doesn’t share all your values instead of calling them names then surrounding yourselves with yes-men and a media-machine that will lie, falsify data, and utilize other tricks to tell you what you want to hear. You lost, the majority of votes went to your opponent, you didn’t have this in the bag, Bernie Sanders should have been your candidate, you can’t cheat and lie with impunity anymore, you’re not that smart and the people aren’t that stupid.
For the Libertarian Party, I no longer have hope. They had an unprecedented opportunity to make history, but instead they were caught unprepared and, as usual, stumbled and stammered before shoving forward their idiotic choice of a plate of re-warmed liberal/conservative puke with no message, platform, principles or pulse to stare, blurry eyed and promote legalized marijuana to a country that is making it legal without him, and less said about his joke of a running mate the better. A party that is supposed to be based on unwavering principle; the promotion of freedom, the uncompromising support of the Bill of Rights, the removing of the false props that keep an inflated federal government upright, fostering free and unregulated trade, and the end of all government theft, etc. What we got was a guy who was perceived as uninformed and possibly high, who was manipulated by an antagonistic media (seemingly willingly) so as to appear unaware of world events or agenda important to the voting public.
I am hoping that this situation will assist the American people to have an epiphany of their own, to see that they don’t NEED these infantile, secretive, opportunistic, lying, greedy, narcissistic sociopaths to tell them how to live. They do not have your best interests at heart, they don’t want to educate your children, they won’t protect you from harm, and they will not bring you prosperity. They WILL line their own pockets, vote their own pay raises, collect and pay off favors, employ coercion, embrace nepotism, and perform any unnatural act they wish on your dime.
Good luck, America, we’re going to need it.

I liked the fifties.

It didn't seem like a particularly good time for minorities or women, I don't know, I was not alive then, and history is always biased.

You say you weren't alive then
I was
.
You say that you don't know
I do
.
You say that history is biased.
I say that history is a lie.

What I saw and experienced is NOT what they write.
