24 Hours to Live is a 2017 American-South African science fiction action thriller film directed by Brian Smrz. That’s not what I am here to talk about. This is to all of us who forget to live in the present, who says “I am too busy “, “I don’t have time for this “or “24 hours are not enough “. Have you all thought what is happening in a day, in those beautiful 24 hours God has given to us? A second is more than enough for the world to go upside down and nonetheless we complain that there is no ample time for us.
In this modern world, we have all type of gadgets that can track the amount of sleep we get, the amount of calories intake and burning off, number of steps taken (I use one) etc. But is there any device that helps us to assess or track how much of happiness we had a day, the total amount of time we laughed, amount of time we spent with our loved ones, the time we took to make our pet for a walk or make him happy? Are we even bothered tracking those? Being a bit judgmental here I think the majority is going to say a no. We are not even sleeping 8 hours happy and relaxed. Then what exactly are we doing in those beautiful 24 hours of a day? Though we still complain that 24hours is not enough.
Today the 11th off march a normal Sunday. Fortunately or unfortunately working day for me. Saturdays are my off days, so as most of us I spent most of the day on the bed going through social media and TV wasting a major portion of my day. And evening went out for some shopping reached home quite late again wasted time on social media (nothing worth) and slept. When it was the time to fill out my bullet journal and my daily tracker in it, I was quite upset on realizing that I did not accomplish anything yesterday, totally a fruitless day and the first thing I said to myself was that “24 hours are not enough”. Let me remind you I was awake until 2.00 in the morning of 11th March. But the same me on a working day I did my workout for 2 hours, made my breakfast, packed my lunch reached work, noted the world around me and yes had 3 consultations all in 5 hours. So, let’s put these as the normal routine but, I spent some quality time with my siblings, parents, and friends, and fed Spooky (she is a cocker spaniel with dachshund cross, 2yrs old and very cute).
Looking back am I happy? Yes, I am happier than a lazy Saturday. This is what that has inspired me to write about time management today. I am quite sure you all would have had a lot of articles on the same to read about. But here, I am not talking about the regular time management, which is amazing by the way when you try. Today I want you to assess, understand and improve the love, peace, happiness and all the positive quotient you have in your life and to live all the 24 hours you have in a day.
So, you have to start by assessing what you do for yourself and your everyday activities for your happiness, not for others happiness but for your own. Think about the happiest moment of your life. I am sure you have a broad smile. Now think is there anything for the day that can bring a beautiful smile on your face, and at the same time assess the sad frustrated moments here. Now compare which one is more the happiness or the frustration? Whatever the status is let’s just concentrate on the happy part. Now you know what are those things that make you happy. For me, I am very happy when I spend time with my family and my pets. Identify your happiness factor, try not making it materialistic. I will list down few things that make me have a smile. This may help you to find your own. So, let me start noting down
· Playing with my pets is the happiest thing
· Planning and achieving something gives me immense happiness
· Listening to music (my favorite genre, not what’s in trend or what everyone else listens)
· Take a walk in the foggy nights
· Everlasting gaze at the sea
· Cooking or rather experimenting
· Spending time with my loved ones
· Reading a book of my choice
· Watching a movie
· Sometimes even social media sites
· Painting, drawing, crafting and so on
My list can go long, but these are the few things that make me feel happy and reenergized. Once when you have a list of your own start to increase the positive quotient of your life. Now if you are wondering how you are going to do it, then it is a simple exercise. Keep repeating things that make you happy and make sure you enjoy every nanosecond of that. You remember all the tiny bits of your happiness and start forgetting or ignoring the sad ones. Hereafter note down all the happy things, moments in your life. Make a wish list or life list (realistic) and achieve them the earliest and in the best way. Work for it, whole heartily. Nothing can beat that satisfaction when you work for your wish and make it come true.
Know that achieving happiness alone is a difficult, as happiness and sadness are two sides of a coin. All you can do is to concentrate to increase the happiness, live every moment. Realize a healthy mind gives you a healthy body and in turn more energy and happiness to spread. When you are happy, energized and calm your surroundings too will change slowly. You and all those around you eventually will feel happy. The productivity is increased, family happiness increased, and now you can breathe in peace, with love and happiness.
It’s time for you to enjoy every moment of your life. You want to cherish them. And now you are living every single second of your 24 hours. Be happy, stay energized, Live and Let Live.
