7 Fundamental Truths That Will Change Your Life Part 2

Please read Part 1 of this article here. I will continue Part 2 where I will discuss 3 more fundamental truths that can change your life.

5. You Are Your Own Worst Enemy

When I first started writing, I used to question myself, will other people be interested to read what I have written. English is not my first language, will other people laugh at my grammar, make fun of my sentence structure or can I write as well as other English native speakers.

You may not realized it but you are often your own worst enemy and your own worst critic. You have a tendency to put yourself down. When you think of a new idea, your mind is immediately filled with thoughts why it can’t be done. In fact you are being imprisoned by your self-limiting beliefs. It is these beliefs that sowed in your thoughts such as “Are you good enough?” “Will you ever amount to anything?” “Do you have what it takes to succeed?” “Do you deserve the success?” Therefore you need to break free of these self-limiting beliefs. If you can’t see the success in your mind, you will not be able to hold it in your hands.

If you can acknowledge this fact, conquer the enemy within then you will find the strength and the courage within yourself to conquer whatever that is out here that prevents you from getting you what you. It is this that can turn an ordinary person into an extra-ordinary person.

6. You Tend To Live Your Life In The Automatic Mode

When you perform routine tasks daily like driving or brushing your teeth, your mind is set on automatic mode, there is no thinking required. Your mind is still tuned to the fight or flight mentality because its primary function is to ensure your survival on this planet. Therefore your mind will tell you to stick with what is safe, what is familiar and what is comfortable. However, if this becomes your default mode, you will end up being just in your comfort zone and you will not be able to progress further in life. You will be merely existing in a comfortable daily routine.

Therefore it is important for you to pause, get out of your automatic mode and reflect on the things that you are doing and the direction that your life is heading. Are you satisfied with your life situation now and are there changes that you like to make in your life? If you like to see changes in your life, then you need to change your way of thinking, explore the options that are available and start doing new things. Stop operating your mind in the automatic mode and get a life.

7. You Can’t Please Everyone

You are a social being and you are hard wired for social connections. However in your interactions with others, you must always remember this fundamental truth; that it is impossible for you to please everybody. It is your one and only life and it is your dream, own it. Do not live your life trying to please others or trying to fit into other people’s expectations of you. Have the courage to be who you are, warts and all and above all be true to yourself. Dare to dream big and do not let the small minded people who have no dreams of their own the power to stop you from achieving your dreams.

So what fundamental truths have you discovered that have changed your life. Do share your thoughts in the comments section.

Yes you are right. It is good to be selfish sometimes, because you really cant please anyone. Great post. Keep it up

I would term that as selfcare rather than selfish.

Great ending to your previous post! Somehow I missed it when you first published part 2.

Totally agree with #6, because we are creatures of habit. Sometimes it's nice to break the cycle and do one thing different, giving ourself the permission to fail. Self-reflection comes in too, to identify the "softwares" we run and the outcome we got.

With #7, a mentor once told me SW SW SW:
Some Will
Some Won't
So What?
