The journey has been long and arduous. We can see light at the end of the tunnel.
The Real Deal!
Check the Populous twitter feed and on 29 December 2017 you will find them and see for yourself. Download these screenshots via the link below.
All this time, keeping communication silence, the Populous team have been quietly working away and doing their thing. The screenshots showing the latest incarnation of the beta is mind blowing.
The beta is REAL!
A Sneak Peep!
The images are just screenshots and you may ask “how does it feel”. One person got a sneak peep at the beta and that was Mark Harrison, Community Manager, Populous Slack.
I have had the opportunity to tour the Beta (in its current state) and kick the tires. It is exceptionally clean and intuitive. The functionality is obvious in the way the pages are organized. There is no distraction in the design or elements. I would say that setting up an account, adding funds, buying invoices, receiving payment and sending funds off of the platform are very easy to accomplish even without a tutorial in sight. – Mark Harrison, Community Manager, Populous Slack
Tightening up of the code here and there, addition of functions to make the experience unsurpassed and enhanced security features in light of recent hacks in the crypto-space are just some of the why it is taking more time than expected.
The beta is coming soon!
PXT has Landed!
That’s right, check you wallets and you will need the following details.
Contract Address: 0xc14830E53aA344E8c14603A91229A0b925b0B262
Token Name: PXT
Decimal: 8
It is discretionary so not all will receive PXT. The PXT is a reward for loyal PPT hodler and the airdrop designed to weed out those who bought PPT to flip rather than believing in the project.
The Populous XBRL token is not yet tradable, however, there is another token going by the same PXT symbol on Etherdelta at the time of this post. Beware, this is not the Populous XBRL token!
The PXT is a cryptocurrency and will have real world use. It will be used on the Data Platform to buy financial data and it is a cryptocurrency much like Bitcoin and Litecoin so do not be surprised if the PXT is listed on the major crypto-exchanges before PPT.
To find out more read my post “Populous – PXT, The Great Equaliser!” here.
Crypto – Fiat Gateway
The invoice financing platform allows you to use PPT to “generate” Pokens which can be exchanged for fiat on a pegged 1:1 basis. The fiat can be wired to your bank account and spent. Great, but so cumbersome!
A Populous Cashaa hookup eliminates the need to exchange Pokens for fiat. Instead, Pokens can be spent directly using the Cashaa Debit Card which is coming soon. Get ready to spend those Pokens.
Whilst other cards allow you to spend cryptos, the number of crypto you will have in your possession will diminish over time even though their value are increasing. In time, the number of crypto in your possession will be ZERO!
The Populous Way is unique because you will be spending the interest and not your principal. You will generate Pokens on the invoice factoring platform using your PPT and spending Pokens. Your principal, in this case PPT, remains undiminished and as long as you own PPT you can generate Pokens in perpetuity to spend.
Very slick and cool!
Distressed Assets?
We know that PXT will be used on the Data Platform to purchase credit reports. I have surmised many time in my posts, what other data can also be purchased and Populous confirmed my assumption.
Populous announced in their twitter feed that:
It is not in keeping with Populous to just allow the purchase of data. Where is the ADDED VALUE in this? As conjecture, could it be that once distressed assets are found, PPT can then be used as collateral to purchase these assets? Now that is how I see Populous adding value to PPT.
Is Populous going to give birth to another platform to allow the purchase of distressed assets? The ecosystem revolves around PPT and it would make sense.
In Conclusion
Populous has been quietly chugging along and just doing its own thing. Even though the train have left the station there are more stops along the way and it is still not too late to get onboard. Platforms still need to be built for this ecosystem to take shape. Are there more platforms along the way?
The journey has not even begun.
PS Choo! Choo!
