My Game of Thrones prediction

I was thinking about GoT and what will happen with the last season.

I believe the White Walkers will win.

George R. R. Martin has made a living world for his characters, making them face multiple challengers along their way. Some have succeeded these challengers in one way or another, whilst others have failed. Most characters talk about a better world, getting their homeland, some sort of peace of revenge. However, they are all primarily at war with some other character.

Everyone wants peace one way or another, but each character is consumed with conquering someone in some way to make that happen. Daenerys wants to rule the seven kingdoms, Cersei Lannister wants to rule the Seven Kingdoms with an iron fist, everyone is picking sides, and in the end, there will probably be a huge battle.

Then what?

The Lannisters are almost broke by monetary standards, we could also assume other houses are in dire straits monetarily. The Iron Bank will probably not lend anyone any more money. All sides are loosing able fighting/working men and women for years now. Due to disease and war, there is no way the birth rate of any side is set to increase without some sort of long lasting peace. Resources are constantly being drained. Everyone is fighting.

There is nothing stopping the White Walkers from rolling in and cleaning up.

It would be a fitting end to the series, where the audience realize exactly how the game of thrones is played. You scheme, play along with people's trust, gain power. But if the game is played too much and too often, then you hit a plateau when you become weaker and weaker, to the point where an ever present threat (eg. the White Walkers) will destroy you if you keep playing, and never put your differences aside.

Every side seems to be doing the same thing that happened during the Mongolian Invasion of Europe. The Europeans kept fighting each other whilst the Mongolians kept creeping into Europe. However, the Europeans then fought back and pushed the Mongolians out.

It seems ever unlikely the Seven Kingdoms may not want to fight the White Walkers, but may end up not having the strength to even push them back to the North.

Only time will tell. In the GoT world, seeing is believing, and not enough people believe the White Walkers even exist.
