Whilst I don't doubt we all need to buy things, we must still remember there is more to life than buying things. Isn't there?

Are you familiar with planned obsolescence? How capitalism often results in cheats and law-breakers happy to take short-cuts if it'll save them money? You know, say, by dumping stuff in rivers etc? Selling all their other waste to China / Africa (who then just throw it in the sea)? You like that do you? How about deforestation? Do you not need air to breathe?

If it's not great for the planet - and we can have too much of a good thing, can we not? - then I'm not sure I can be its greatest fan. Can you?

Thanks for the definition of what capitalism is though. And I bet you just LOVE christmas! ;)

Hi zool, thanks for the reply. Of course I believe having clean air and water is important, and capitalism doesn't force companies to be irresponsible. They are free to figure out better ways to dispose of their hazardous waste by doing research themselves or hiring experts.
