Why the "America for Americans" Mindset Shift Matters

Trump's populist mindset views Americans as both customers and shareholders to make happy, and this massive improvement is why he overwhelmingly won.

Cut special deals that benefit American companies, keep a massively popular app from getting shut off, and so on. "America first." 🇺🇸

There's lots of dumb or unproductive things that he's pushing for, but just this mindset shift that the people who voted for him and fund his government should be prioritized is a breath of fresh air.

We've had people unhappy and suffering, with politicians doing nothing to change it. We've had money going to bankroll foreign governments. We've had wars started that don't benefit Americans whatsoever.

Shifting the focus back to the people who voted and pay taxes is a welcome generation shift.

Now, Trump has other issues, namely that he doesn't seem to believe in Constitutionally-limited government. He'd probably like absolute power as an executive to do what he wants. That's a completely separate issue, and I think his supporters have to be realistic about it.

But at least we fixed the "pillaged at the behest of foreign interests" part.

Now imagine if we had a similar "get the best deal for America and Americans" mindset from a liberty-respecting, significantly limited government.

One final thing: this is one big step away from collectivist, statist mindsets and towards a more individualist mindset.

When you replace excuses like "the greater good" with "Americans both decide and benefit", the next logical step is "every American both decides and benefits".

America's path has overwhelmingly been socialist for the past several decades at least: everyone has to work for the nebulous greater good of the whole world, individual needs be damned. America-first is still socialist, but it's a significantly more limited variant.

First take your country back, then take yourself back from your country. 💡
