The 0.2 degrees was a mistake by the President. It should prevent 2 degrees of warming. That is it might only get 0.2 degrees cooler than it is now, but that should be compared to being 2 full degrees warmer.
Also the costs being talked about are vastly overstated. People are stating the total cost, but hiding the fact that it's shares among 190 countries.
Is the Paris Accord perfect? Probably not, but it's better than nothing and the reality is Trump didn't back out because he wants to do something better.
No, it won't. The Paris Agreement isn't even claiming to result in a 2 degree reduction in warming. If it were, that would be the ONLY thing we hear about it: that it's such a great deal, it would be exceeding the long-talked-about target of 2 degrees. The projections that get anywhere near that number include massive future policy changes in terms of reducing carbon emissions.
If every country were paying the same portion of the bill, and actually had to follow the guidelines, that might be relevant.
President Trump backed out because it's a waste of tens of billions of tax payer dollars while we're running a deficit of hundreds of billions of dollars. Of course he's not going to do something better or even something else, he's going to pile less debt on our children's heads.
Trump pulled out because it was something Obama did.
He's just going to spend the money elsewhere, like golf trips where he pays his own companies with taxpayer dollars.
They thoroughly explained the economic reasoning behind making the decision. Screeching about golf and other low IQ #Resistance talking points confirms that you have nothing worthwhile to say.
It's not the golf, it's the constant lies and profiting on our tax dollars.
