Right now this is the raging debate happening in my Country India .
The Problem is that the moment you say something against the general sentiment of the masses , people end up Judging you and allege that you are biased and a Hypocrite .
Especially in my country , people are divided based on their political affiliations , any comment about the government and immediately you are termed as an anti national and people start abusing you .
With a population of over a Billion people , individual voices are seldom heard . So people rely on News Media to express the general opinion .but the problem is most News Channels are biased and generate a lot of false news , making it impossible to identify the real news , forget about free speech .
So compared to the situation in a developing country like mine , UK has a better record of Valuing and considering Free Speech Rights .
Wow. That sounds pretty scary. I'm sorry to hear that you're having to go through that. Individuality is the most important thing. I really hope it improves over time! Or, hopefully Steemit will make you rich and you can move to a place that supports individuality! Cheers!
