With the emergence of regional economic blocs such as ASEAN, economic growth, social progress and cultural development between the ASEAN regions will be accelerated through mutual co-operation. In addition, another example will be NAFTA for which this regional organization is the combination of Canada, Mexico, and America involved in the trilateral trade. Because of the inability of the state to play a role as an independent economic entity, there is a need for trade and these transactions must be interactively interacted with others through regional blocks to open markets and generate revenue through economic activity. Regionalism, therefore, allows smaller nations to depend on those who are close to them and to develop economically, politically or culturally.
