The tax dilemma - I am split like firewood / Das Steuerdilemma – Ich bin gespalten wie Brennholz

Tax evasion. On the one hand, I could puke. The poor pay like the stupid, while the rich evade taxes at their whim. Because who has money has power and who has power is right. Nothing new. On the one hand, I find tax evasion very unjust and unsolid. On the other hand, I have full understanding. Who wants to pay for the exercise of state authority. A government that makes weapons deals with dictators, builds meaningless prestige buildings, and generally consists of hunters and desk attendants, is quite uncool. If I could, I would say: My taxes may only be used for social and environmental protection, as well as for car-free infrastructure. But I'm not allowed to. It's democracy. There is nothing to decide for me. Well, then I'll probably be a firewood.

Steuerhinterziehung.

Sort:

taxation is theft dog.... where is the dilemma? do they get the funds without the explicit agreement of the payer ? if so,theft
did they get an agreement but than operated in breech of said agreement without reimbursing the funds ? theft and fraud ..

Indeed.
As stefan molyneux use to say (when he was still sane): statism/the law/tax-law, it's that little round circle on the temple of your head. (from a gun)
It's not the exactly the sentence he said, but something like that, but you get what I mean.

Hopefully, the future yields a tax system on a blockchain, so at the very least, we have a transparent ledger to view where are money is being spent. Furthermore, an actual choice of distribution would be amazing!

Hello there, western Freund.
Don't be discouraged.
While it is true, that we don't choose which government projects they are funding, as long as you have working democracy, you can atleast have a little say in what projects there are to begin with.
It seems, that in our age, it is impossible to have the "ruling class" do the actual will of their citizens.
Election after election, same people make decisions people who vote them in don't even support.
I'm afraid, we might have to outlive the previous generation while staying politically informed, vocal, and active in the public eye, before anything can change for the better.
So be strong.
