There is nothing more important than following procedure. He mishandled the Clinton case and whatever good work he did do over the course of his appointment has now been tarnished. His removal has nothing to do with ongoing investigations as the FBI isn't a one-man-team. Try to shut down someone's case to pull a favor? They'll leak that shit like there's no tomorrow. Anyways, I think it's a good thing. It's not a lifelong appointment.
