RE: Who is the Observing Libertarian?

in #politics6 years ago

I'm way over to the left of you, I call myself an egalitarian. I am happy to come across your account and hopefully we can engage in discord in due course. If you are new here, perhaps we could bounce a lot of ideas around and learn from one another's experience. I am also a man - a non sexist ipso facto, I believe in men's rights just as much as i do in women's rights. Rights of course, being always in relation to others - no right or claim to a right can infringe on or discriminate against another person.

Sort:

I draw a monumentally vast distinction between "Classical Liberals", meaning people educated in the traditions of Locke, Voltaire, Descartes etc. and the current breed of those whom I refer to as "leftists". More over - I intentionally make the distinction on a regular basis while talking about my political opposition.

For an example, I haven't turned it into a video yet, but I have posted it to steam: my article "The Right, the Left and the Truth" ( https://steemit.com/politics/@obserlibertarian/the-right-the-left-and-the-truth ).

That article will probably be my next video for dtube, youtube and bitchute. However, it is available and present here on steem right now in article form, just not video as of yet. On particularly ornate / nuanced and detail oriented topics which require a lot of concise talking points and citation: I usually do the write up for the video AS an article so that I can have all my citations organized for the viewer/listener.

Not only does this make it easier for my viewers/listeners to find said citations in order to double check my word but also: it's often much easier for people to watch or listen to a video rather than sit down and read a 3k+ word essay type article. Especially since so many people listen to videos while doing any number of other activities like playing games, working, driving, etc. etc.

That makes the content much easier to digest for people.

I look forward to seeing your video to understand your views and distinctions better. I am familiar with the breed to which you refer, and do not count myself among them. I am an egalitarian and my political and economic views tend toward socialism. In this regard, i may be on the left but I distance myself from a lot of campaigns branded as left in the American and European political sphere. My training is in psychology, not politics or economics, so I look forward to reading and seeing your discussions unfold.
