I take it you are no fan of the UBI proposal. I'm still unsure how I feel about it.

For me that is an understatement. UBI is a beast.

I am very much interested in why you think so. I havent heard much on the opposition to UBI.

It will be sourced from the taxes that the government has collected. Plus it will only be used to make an impression that the economy is doing well while the debt is 30 times more than the total printed dollars in existence.

I was under the impression it would be used to supplement everyone for the lack of jobs available due to the rise of automation. Here's a quick read about it; Business Insider - UBI and automation.

"With automation, there will come abundance," Musk said. "Almost everything will get very cheap."

That money theoretically could be redistributed to give people financial security even if they didn't work. UBI advocates often point to reduced costs as a reason the system could be cheaper to implement than most might assume.

They suggest it could be a system that facilitates wealth redistribution from the wealthiest of us to the poorest.

It is not wealth redistribution per se. If it were true everyone will belong in the middle class if true wealth redistribution will take place.

No way of knowing for sure unless it's tested. I doubt everyone will ever be on the same level financially, but it would be great if the poorest of us were in better condition.
